I Have Influenced Most Ghanaian Artistes With My Style - Wiyaala
Jul 30, 2020
Ghanaian afro-pop singer Wiyaala in a recent interview revealed she was inspired to do music after she had watched a video of American Pop queen Madonna. In a new development, the singer has established that a lot of Ghanaian musicians have been influenced by her style of music and are now adding a touch of Africanness to their style.
In an interview with GhanaWeb, the lioness of Africa noted unlike before, Ghanaian musicians have acquired some level of awakening and are gradually copying her style of music and are now even singing in their local dialects.
“All Ghanaian artists are now moving into the African zone. I have influenced people. A lot of artists who didn’t even bother about their culture are now coming out to boast of their hometown. They are now singing in their local dialects. They are now trying to add that identity but I started mine long time ago. Some of us have really impacted these artists,” she stated
As to claims she is not popular, the African lioness has this to say: “Anybody who says I’m not popular is just trying to downplay me which people always try to do. Someone once told me I have to win an award before I can be validated and I told the person to keep dreaming.”
The Ghanaian international singer and performer, Wiyaala is currently trending in the news for having lashed out at Arnold Asamoah Baidoo and other entertainment critics for saying she does not count in the Ghanaian music industry.
