Liverpool looked after Jurgen Klopp and Arsenal must do the same with Mikel Arteta says Ally McCoist, who backs under-fire Gunners boss

Ally McCoist insists Arsenal should be patient with under-fire manager Mikel Arteta.
The Spaniard, who is in his first managerial role, guided Arsenal to FA Cup glory last term but is finding his first full season in charge more challenging.
The Gunners have failed to score from open play in 450 minutes of Premier League football, which has resulted in just one win from their past five games.
Doubts have since been cast over Arteta’s future, but talkSPORT co-host McCoist wants Arsenal to follow Liverpool’s lead by staying loyal to their boss.
Reds manager Jurgen Klopp lost three cup finals before finally winning the European Cup and a first ever Premier League title for Liverpool.
McCoist told Tuesday’s Sports Breakfast: “You just have to point at Klopp and the way they’ve looked after him at Liverpool .
“They’ve stood by their man because it was not an overnight success. They gave him time, it was a four or five-year project and look at him now.
“Arteta had that brilliant start. He won the FA Cup and they were flying for a period towards the end of last season. Everyone expected it to carry on again.
“But that’s not always the case and it isn’t the case at this moment in time with Arsenal. So they will come again.
“If it was a steady process then everyone would be quite happy, but it’s the fact he started ever so well and they’ve stood still a little bit now. That’s the problem.”
