Miguel Azeez and Ben Cottrell included in Arsenal squad travelling to Molde

Nov. 24, 2020

Arsenal ’s promising teenage rookies Miguel Azeez and Ben Cottrell have been included in the travelling squad for Thursday’s Europa League clash away at Molde.
The Gunners top Group B after picking up maximum points in their first three outings in Europe this season.
Mikel Arteta will have the chance to rotate his team and give his bright academy products an opportunity to shine.
Midfielders Azeez, 18, and Cottrell, 19, will both have the chance to make their senior competitive debuts against Molde.
Meanwhile, highly-rated academy striker Folarin Balogun, who already made his first team debut in the win over Dundalk last month, also made the trip to Norway.
The 19-year-old’s contract at the club expires next summer and he is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal.
Azeez, who has impressed for Steve Bould’s Under-23s this season, has previously admitted that he models his game on Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets.
‘One of my idols is Sergio Busquets,’ Azeez said in an interview with Spanish journalist Guillem Balague in July.
‘For me, I like to put some of his game into mine.
‘When players run at 100mph they can’t really look at what is going on and sometimes you need to play with a little bit of composure. I always thought Patrick Vieira was a good player in that position as well.’
Fellow youngster Emile Smith Rowe was also in the travelling party.
The 20-year-old has been building his fitness with the Under-23s after suffering a shoulder injury in pre-season and is yet to make a first team appearance this season.
Meanwhile, senior players Granit Xhaka, Alex Runarsson, Kieran Tierney and Shkodran Mustafi have also travelled for Thursday’s clash.
