Recently, a video was shared online showing two students from Technical University of Mombasa thoroughly beating up their colleague over claims of kissing the girlfriend of one of them.
Shortly after the video went viral on social media, prompting the attention of Directorate of Criminal Investigations, one of the suspects identified as Cedric threatened to commit suicide.
Fearing the repercussions of his actions, the rogue student wrote a message of apology to the victim on on his WhatsApp status.
"I warned alloys more than five times, he never took me seriously. How do you kiss my girlfriend three times then expect me to give you justice? All that trust I gave you! ...I am sorry Alloys," said Cedric.
He went ahead and wrote another post saying he wont live to see the sun the following day and indicated he had made up his mind.
"Mom, dad and Brian I am sorry, I have made up my mind. Mom tell those mortuary attendants not to cut a single strap of my hair,"
The matter was reported to Makupa Police Station and the school said they were resolving the case internally.
"We are only waiting for them to be summoned by the disciplinary committee to explain their action and appropriate punishment will be taken" said Victor Kambi, the university communications director.
