The commandant general of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abdullahi Gana Mohammadu, has confirmed the killing of an officer of the agency by his colleague.
According to the statement, the Korean, who was not named, is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
While commiserating with the family of the deceased, Gana said he received the information with a heavy heart.
He expressed shock at the incident saying it happened despite various warning by the management against such acts of negligence and carelessness.
The commandant further assured the public that adequate punitive actions would be taken against the officer involved in the act in order to avert a reoccurrence as well as serve as deterrent to other personnel.
Gana also said investigation into the remote causes of the incident was on-going as a committee had been set up to critically look into the matter.
He added that the officer involved had been stripped of his arms and currently in detention pending the outcome of the report of the committee.
This was despite the fact that the killing was perpetrated by police officers.
Iyamu made the statement when addressing NSCDC officers at his Wuse Zone 5, office, Abuja, following the death of Ochigbo Jumbo Ogar, an officer formerly serving at the FCT command.
