Atletico Madrid and the jinxed third kit
Nov. 29, 2019
Atletico Madrid have been defeated in two of their last three games away from home and although there are many similarities between those couple of matches, one thing that stands out is the jersey.
Los Rojiblancos were wearing their third kit in both defeats at Bayer Leverkusen and Juventus, which may be enough for a superstitious coaching staff to put the blue jersey on hold.
"We are proud to show off the design in tribute to all those who have contributed to placing our club in the place we occupy today," said Saul Niguez in September, but the results haven't been as positive as they have when wearing the away kit.
Dressed in the black jersey, Atletico Madrid have beaten Leganes, and Lokomotiv Moscow in Russia, as well as registering draws with Sevilla and Granada.
Atleti have used the home kit in the rest of their away games, but the outcome wasn't what Diego Simeone desired as his side lost against Real Sociedad, plus drew at Real Valladolid and Alaves.
Wearing the third kit, the Argentine's team have only managed one win which was against Real Mallorca back in September.
