Ruto allies on Friday May 29th called for opening of churches as they criticized the meeting of western leaders held by COTU secretary general Francis Atwoli calling for forced quarantine of all members who attended the meeting. According to vocal MP Oscar Sudi, the meeting was full of criminals who used the coronavirus pandemic to foster their political agenda. Sudi’s sentiments were also echoed by Senator Kipchumba Murkomen who said went to his social media account to lament on the manner in which the meeting was conducted a mid covid-19.
According to Murkomen and Sudi, the government should open churches if it allowed Atwoli’s meeting to take place while violating the regulations of social distancing.  The video, of the western leaders present in the meeting trended the whole of Friday showing the leaders dancing while some were taking alcohol with social distancing appearing not to be an issue. The video attracted several reactions on social media with some criticizing the leader’s behavior in the meeting.
