Ole Gunnar Solskjaer 'wants to axe' three Man United players to raise cash for summer transfers
Jun 4, 2020
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly ready to sell the on-loan trio of Alexis Sanchez, Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo this summer.
Solskjaer has already started looking ahead to next season, and allegedly does not see any of the three players mentioned as part of his long-term plans.
He is aware that he will need to sell before he can buy, particularly given the current precarious financial situation as a result of the effects of the coronavirus crisis.
Sanchez is likely the one of the three that United would most like to move on given his astronomical £450,000-a-week wages.
The 31-year-old has had a mixed time in his loan spell at Inter Milan. He suffered an injury in October which ruled him out until the new year, and since then he has created just one assist in eleven games and failed to score.

It is not yet clear whether Inter are interested in bringing him in permanently, but the Chilean forward would likely have to take a huge pay cut if he is interested in remaining in Italy.
Chris Smalling, meanwhile, has been a big success during his time at Roma, making 21 appearances in Serie A and helping his side to fifth place, and it is likely that they would be keen on keeping him if United are willing to sell him for a reasonable price.
