Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria
Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria on Tuesday 23rd June took to social media to declare that the Parliament is dead.
The second-term MP hinted the handshake had led to the collapse of the once respected House and it was no longer playing its oversight role as expected.
Through a tweet a day after Garissa Township Member of Parliament Aden Duake was oustd from his plum position, the national Assembly Majority leader and replaced by Kipipiri MP Amos Kimunya, Moses Kuria claimed that all bills and motions were moved by Kipipiri MP Amos Kimunya (the new majority leader) and seconded by John Mbadi (minority whip).
"It's official. The National Assembly is dead. All bills and motions moved by Amos Kimunya and seconded by John Mbadi. Justin Muturi is the mortician. It's over guys,"Kuria complained.
Kenyans on twitter responding to Kuria’s tweet had this to say:
Why can't your RESIGN from the National Assembly if it is DEAD. That's what BOLD People do.”, Charlse Mark Dienya suggested.
Risign and wait for Ruto to be president, stop making unnecessary noise on twitter”, Kim Mwananchi noted.
Parliament died when U were busy bragging of how U would circumcise Luos....enyewe malipo ni papa hapa”, Collins Fredrick said.
Parliament died just when they got a purge in committees in the house. We have more than 250 legislators to move the house without these empty coconut shell tangatanga”, Tollabahi said.
You really have a forgetful mind, remember when unconstitutional bills were used to be passed by Duale and rubber stamped by Muturi as you and other Jubilated Mpigs who were drank with power wrestled the opposition just for it to be assented to Welcome to the official opposition”, Basho said.
Moses Kuria’s sentiments conquer with those of Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen who had also claimed the second arm of government was dead and had become an appendage of the executive.
Murkomen said this after he was axed by the president Uhuru Kenyatta from the position of Senate Majority leader.
"I can however confirm that Parliament is dead. It’s an extension of the executive and the Opposition is causing stampede trying to be more government than government itself,” Murkomen tweeted.
Jubilee party delivered a major blow to Deputy president William Ruto’s camp with the Jubilee purge that has seen many of the DP’s allies being ousted from their positions.
