Raila's ODM Threaten To Quit BBI
Jul 7, 2020
ODM leader Raila Odinga
The Orange Democratic Movement Party (ODM) on Monday 6th July has revealed that it may exit from the Building Bridges Initiative Agenda after controversy rises in the selection of 2 key positions within the Parliamentary Committees likely to play a crucial role in the passage of the BBI.
According to ODM party Chairman John Mbadi, he has blamed the Jubilee Party in the composition of two key House committees putting in that the Jubilee Party's proposed appointees are a clear picture that the BBI report will be frustrated.
Mbadi has accused the Jubilee Party of appointing anti-BBI team in the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee and that of Delegated Legislation putting in that out of the 12 slots in Jubilee side, the ruling party has appointed only 3 members who are supportive to the BBI lamenting that the other 9 are Tangatanga leaders who are major criticizers of the BBI.
The ODM chairman has sent a warning to the Jubilee team asserting that if changes will not be made they will not wait to see them making a mistake adding that it's rather they quit the Building Bridges Agenda.
