Murkomen Responds to Murathe’s Threats,Says He Is Doing The Right Thing
Aug 4, 2020
The Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen has dismissed Jubilee Party's vice chairman David Murathe's threats to expel him from the ruling outfit.
The vocal second-term lawmaker was one of the 25 senators who on July 28, opposed the third basis county revenue allocation formula backed by his party leader President Uhuru Kenyatta.
While responding to Murathe who said "rebel" members who voted against the president's wish would be kicked out, Murkomen argued he was doing the right thing and as such he had nothing to worry about.
"When I see such a headline I am so assured that I am doing the right thing and the peace In my heart flows like a gentle river," he tweeted in reference to a headline by The Standard.
Murathe expressed disappointment with Nairobi senator Johnson Sakaja who led the 'rebels' under the banner of 'One Kenya Movement' and watered down the proposal that would have seen Nairobi gain more cash.
Besides the duo, Lamu's Anwar Oloitiptip also risks expulsion from Kenya'a largest party. Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja (c) is also one of the senators who risks expulsion from Jubilee Party.
