Curfew Extended , Bars Opened As Schools Remain Closed! Uhuru Speaks

President Uhuru Kenyatta has extended the dusk till dawn curfew for 60 more days in a bid to curb more Coronavirus infections.
However, the time for the curfew has been pushed from 9 P.M- 5 a.m. to 11p.m to 4.a.m. The President has gone ahead and reopened bars and sell of alcohol from Tuesday 29th September.
Regarding congregations in religious houses, the president has increased the capacity of places of worship to a third of the normal population, but the churches must adhere to the Ministry of Health measures.
The president went further to increase the number of maximum people who attend funerals and wedding to 200.
Regarding the debate on education resumption, Uhuru has maintained that the schools will remain closed until the ministry is sure that the schools are safe and students’ health can be assured,
He has pleaded with Kenyans, Parents and students in particular to remain patient as the safety and health of students is more important. The president has taken the matter back to Education Minister CS George Magoha, and called upon him to agree and once the schools are ready, come up with a calendar on when the students will be back to school whether this year or next year.
While speaking at the KICC during the National Corona Virus conference, Uhuru has congratulated Kenyans for adhering to the measures put across by the health ministry and urged them to remain with the same spirit since in readiness of the second wave of the virus.
The president has acknowledged that the country’s positivity rate has decreased from 13% in March to 4.4%, noting that the curve is flattening. He has however asked Kenyans to continue with the civic responsibility of keeping safe.
