COVID-19: MOH Concerned As 604 New Cases Are Confirmed

Kenya has on Wednesday recorded 604 new cases of COVID-19, another day with increased numbers of new cases in the country something that is now worrying.
The new cases which are from a size of 5,832 samples tested brings to 42,541 the number of confirmed cases with the cumulative number of samples now standing at 601,623.
“Today 604 people have tested positive for the virus, from a sample size of 5,832 tested in the last 24 hours. This brings to 42,541 the number of confirmed positive cases in the country. Our cumulative tests are now 601,623.” Said Ministry of Health.
583 of the new cases are Kenyans with 21 being foreigners comprising of 400 males and 204 females aged between 5-months and 94-years.
“Distribution of the cases by Counties is as follows; Nairobi 125, Nakuru 113, Mombasa 87, Busia 35, Uasin Gishu 33, Trans Nzoia 25, Kiambu 25, Kisii 24, Kisumu 24, Kajiado 16, Nandi 13, Kakamega 12, Meru 11, Machakos 7, Siaya 7, Garissa 7, Muranga 5, West Pokot 5, Nyeri 5, Turkana 4, Laikipia 3, Wajir 3, Embu 2, Kirinyaga 2, Narok 2, Marsabit 2, Taita Taveta 2, Kitui 1, Nyamira 1, Tharaka Nithi 1, Kilifi 1 and Nyandarua 1.” Said Ministry of Health.
A record 88 patients recovered from the virus with 56 of them coming from home-based care and the rest from various hospitals in the country. This now brings to 31,428 the cumulative number of recoveries.
Sadly, 10 new patients succumbed to the disease bringing to 797 the number of fatalities confirmed in the country.
“Unfortunately, 10 patients have succumbed to the disease bringing the fatality to 797. Our sincere condolences to the families and friends of those who have lost their loved ones.” Said MOH
