Mutahi Ngunyi reveals new details of DP Ruto’s involvement in the BBI report, calls him a hypocrite

Oct. 29, 2020

Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has broken his silence over the new developments over the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report with yet another scathing attack on DP Ruto.
The political scientist famed for his “Tyranny of Numbers” prediction of Uhuru Kenyatta’s victory in 2013 labelled the Deputy President a hypocrite and challenged him to deny if he was not involved in the process of making the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report including selection of the BBI team.
“If Ruto has not denied that he was one of the architects of BBI, including selecting the BBI Wazees, then he is a hypocrite. And to call him a hypocrite is not even an insult. By his standards, it is a compliment.” Mutahi Ngunyi tweeted.
He accused the DP of turning against an initiative he had been part of from the start in what many believe is a futile attempt to gain political mileage.
During the launch of the BBI report, DP Ruto raised a number of concerns in the report stating that he does not understand how the BBI report will fix the idea of the winner takes it all.
Ruto also picked up an issue with the proposal that the political parties should appoint some Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioners.
William Ruto and his allies had also opposed some sections of the proposed BBI report claiming that it’s going to be a source of unending Political conflicts.
The second in command also gave his reason as to why some elements in the BBI report need to be amended before its final presentation to the citizens through referendum.
