Kenya Confirms 17 COVID-19 deaths, National Tally Is 1,366

The number of COVID-19 deaths in the country have on Saturday raised to 1,366 after 17 new fatalities were confirmed by the Ministry of Health.
“17 patients have succumbed to the disease bringing the fatality to 1,366. Our sincere condolences to the families and friends of those who have lost their loved ones.” said MOH.
The Ministry was speaking as they confirmed 1,211 new cases of the disease in the last 24 hours from 9,304 samples tested.
This now brings to 76,404 the cumulative number of confirmed cases and 833,044 the cumulative number of samples tested so far.
“1,211 people have tested positive for the virus, from a sample size of 9,304 tested in the last 24 hours, bringing to 76,404 the number of confirmed positive cases in the country. The cumulative tests are now 833,004.” said MOH
In terms of distribution of the new cases; Nairobi leads with 410 new cases, Mombasa 102, Migori 93, Bungoma 79, Uasin Gishu 55, Kiambu 42, Nakuru 40, Kilifi 39, Nyeri 30, Kisumu 30, Busia 28, Laikipia 27, Turkana 26, Machakos 25, Meru 25, Kisii 24, Kajiado 21, Trans Nzoia 17, Kakamega 12, Nyamira 12, Homabay 11, Siaya 9, Narok 8, Kitui 7, Embu 5, Nandi 4, Kwale 4, Murang’a 4, Kericho 4, Garissa 4, Taita Taveta 3, Lamu 3, Elgeyo Marakwet 2, Isiolo 2, Tana River 2, Wajir 1, and Makueni 1.
