The recreation center at Matchett Park is set to hit a construction milestone soon with portions of the structure going vertical. The center is still on track for a mid-2026 opening, according to Grand Junction Parks and Recreation Director Ken Sherbenou. “We’re pretty deep into construction,” Sherbenou said last week.
