The Genki Moonbase Power Strip Is a 7-in-1 Powerhouse That You Need in Your Life

The Genki Moonrise puts all other power strips to shame
With all the flashy tech that comes across my desk, it’s easy to overlook the thing that actually powers everything – the lowly power strip. Look up any desk setup video; most folks look for ways to hide the necessary but otherwise dull accessory. But Genki, maker of a wide-ranging list of accessories and gaming peripherals, has found a way to elevate the power strip into a piece of tech that’s equal parts visually captivating and functional. The Moonbase is a 240W GaN (Gallium Nitride) 7-in-1 desktop charging hub that can power up seven devices simultaneously.
The Moonbase is in the final days of a successful Indiegogo campaign. If interested, you can pick up the hub for only $98 or $139 with a full set of Moonbase cables. The first models are due to ship sometime in April. I was lucky enough to snag a prototype of the Moonbase during CES 2025, and it has been powering all sorts of devices ever since.
The Moonbase Gives Strong NASA-Punk Vibes
One of my favorite things about the Moonbase is the design. Unlike the boring slabs of plastic you typically see with power strips, this hub gives space station chic. Most of my Moonbase’s housing is a bright white that Genki calls Moonlight. The AC plugs are marked Nodes 1 – 3 in that blocky lettering you’d see in games like Cyberpunk 2077 or Starfield with Moonbase stamped on the front of the device. The left side of the hub with the power button is black, while the right side and fabric-covered cord are neon orange. You can find a slightly deeper shade of this orange in the screws on the top, accentuating the translucent black plastic plug covers on the AC outlets.
