John Gift: Social media fans buy coffin for Bungoma comedian who died mysteriously

Fans of the late upcoming Bukusu comedian who died under mysterious circumstances have bought him a coffin worth KSh 30,000 ahead of his final farewell.
The fans through a Facebook page where John Masinde aka John Gift was a member came up with the idea a week after his death and KSh 30,000 was contributed towards the initiative.
Dubbed Bungoma Liberation Movement, the group which has over 5,000 active members is believed to have been the major sponsors of the artistic work of the late John Gift.
The forum supports families that need help including paying school fees, supporting women projects, hospital bills among others.
"You can imagine people sending their contributions to someone they have never met," she said.
Namalwa eulogised Gift as a youth whose destiny would be great not only to him but to the entire Mulembe nation
"John Gift made us laugh through his Bukusu comedy and we felt that we should support his family," she said.
Gift who was a fourth year student at the University of Eldoret (UoE) studying Physics and Chemestry died on the morning of June 2.
Since his sudden death, an autopsy report is yet to establish the cause of his demise which was linked to a politician.
Gift whose death shocked many will be remembered for his short comedies like Mufaulanga Murie among others.
