North Korean authorities have issued a warning to the United States of America, Britain, France and Germany not to table the matter of its recent misile tests before the United Nations Security Council.
The pariah Asian nation led by Kim Jong Un noted that if any of the aforementioned countries expresses its concern about North’s test of submarine-launched missile, before the UN Security Council, it would further urge its desire to defend its sovereignty.”
“We know well that the United States is behind impure moves of the UK, France and Germany,” North Korea’s UN Ambassador Kim Song told a small group of reporters at Pyongyang’s UN mission.
“The United States and its followers should bear in mind that if they raise the issue of our self-defensive measures at the UN Security Council meeting in this moment, it will further urge our desire to defend our sovereignty,” Kim said.
The warning issued by North Korea came two days after Pyongyang announced that it has called off nuclear talks with the US over its ‘inflexibility’, dashing any prospects for an end to months of stalemate.
The working-level nuclear talks in Sweden between officials from Pyongyang and Washington have stalled with North’s chief nuclear negotiator, Kim Myong Gil, saying the other side’s negotiators would not “give up their old viewpoint and attitude”.
