Wheel Chair Basketball struggling

With only the training ground and hostel for accommodation as the support from the Government, Uganda Wheelchair Basketball Federation (UWBF) is determined to take two teams to Nairobi for the East Africa tournament.
The regional tournament due October 16 to 20 in Nairobi Kenya has attracted countries including Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan, Tanzania, Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda and hosts Kenya.
According to Sulaiman Mayanja, the UWBF president, the two teams comprise 20 players of which eight form the women side and 12 the men’s side.
“We are training hard but our challenge is finances to have the team travel for the regional event. We appeal to the public to support us,” Mayanja said.
“We want sh45m to meet transport, accommodation, participation and up keep for the two teams, but what we have so got from National Council of Sports the training venue and hostel,” Mayanja says.
