Whether we agree or not, it is a well-known fact that fashion and styling makes an impact on our everyday lives. Your appearance tends to affect the way people approach or view you, it also affects the way they respect you. Although, we all have a belief that fashion is mainly for the ladies and men can wear whatever they wish to wear and people are okay with that. Well, that is far from the truth.
The fashion industry has always put men into consideration and there are male fashion icons who are trendsetters that have inspired so many people.
So for the purpose of this article, we will focus on mistakes men frequently make as they ignore the right kind of style either intentionally or unintentionally.
Improper trousers length
There are many guys whose trousers, jeans or chinos are just way too long and you find them folding their trousers, the length usually goes beyond the ankle region and sometimes touching the floor. The trousers' length can come touching the shoes and not beyond the ankle.
Wearing baggy shirts and trousers
Shirts and trousers are not supposed to be oversize, rather, they are supposed to fit the body but never too tight. Well-fitting clothes will make you look smart while baggy clothes will make you look like a clown.
Tie on short sleeve shirt
Come on! You are no more in secondary school, so you should avoid wearing a tie with a short-sleeve shirt. If you wish to look more confident and professional with a tie, it is more appropriate you stick with a long-sleeved shirt.
Not matching your belt colour and shoes
It is a fashion rule that if you are going for a professional occasion, it is necessary for the colour of your belt to match your shoe colour. If you are rocking casual shoes, then you need to match them with a casual belt.
Short socks on trousers
If you are wearing a suit, it is wrong you wear socks that are not long enough, long socks should be worn so that its length is up to your calves. So when you sit or cross your leg, your skin would not be visible.
Wrinkled clothes
Wrinkled clothes are definitely a no-no, to look fashionable, smart and professional, your clothes must be pressed always whenever you are going out.
Backpack on suit
It doesn’t look professional when you suit up, then you are carrying a backpack. A backpack should be casual. Even though a backpack might be more comfortable than a briefcase, it is better you get a messenger bag that can just be hanged on your shoulder, across your chest.
No accessories
Accessories are like flavor to your fashion which sweetens your outfits. Although excessive wearing of accessories is a total no-no, your outfits can be spiced up with a wristwatch and sunglasses.
Tuck in T-Shirt
Except you tuck in a polo shirt, T-shirts are never meant to tuck in but rather remain casual.
Now, these common mistakes shouldn't be made anymore.
