Strictly Come Dancing 2019: Katya Jones makes mistake in Mike Bushell elimination routine

Nov. 03, 2019

STRICTLY COME DANCING judge Bruno Tonioli is an eagle-eyed man as he spotted a mistake made by Katya Jones when she was dancing to keep Mike Bushell in the competition earlier this evening.
Strictly Come Dancing fans were outraged this evening when Mike Bushell and Katya Jones were saved by the judges once more. They were up against Emma Weymouth and Aljaž Škorjanec in the bottom two as they both had to perform their routines from Saturday for survival.
The judges opted to save Mike and Katya but it seems they could have been close to elimination as their routine wasn’t perfect.
When delivering his feedback on the pair, Bruno Tonioli spotted the professional actually made a pretty big error in her choreography.
However, the judge saw how positively Mike reacted to it, and opted to save the pair.
Towards the end of the routine, Mike and Katya were performing a daring lift which would see him carry her on his back.
But much to his surprise, Katya didn't line up her body to his correctly and she rolled off to the side.
It was a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment, but not one that Bruno could avoid.
Bruno said when asked who he wanted to keep: “Purely based on tonight’s performance, more entertaining, richer, more powerful and something extraordinary happened, the celebrity actually covered for the professional’s mistake.”
Many thought Mike shouldn’t have been saved again considering he has been in the bottom two for three weeks in a row.
One wrote: “Maybe Mike is being kept in strictly because he works for the BBC? #BBC #BBCStrictly #strictlyspoiler #strictlyconspiracy.”
Another added: “This is absolutely ridiculous why has Shirley sent home Emma & Anton rather than Mike who is clearly the weakest dancer! Where is Shirley’s mind?”
A third shared: “No wonder Strictly is losing audience figures the judges decisions are questionable looks like I won't be watching again next year I'll only continue as long as Kelvin is in it #strictlyspoiler.”
Meanwhile, Mike and Katya were unanimously saved by the judges, who all thought he was better than Emma and Aljaž.
Craig Revel Horwood said of the pair: “Well, for me the most challenging and the better dance, I thought on this particular performance for me, I’d like to save Mike and Katya.”
Motsi Mabuse followed suit and saved the BBC Breakfast presenter.
She shared: “I’m going to choose a couple which I think everything they did was clearer to read, much easier to follow and more prepared.
