Kalu laments in prison
Dec. 14, 2019
An ex-governor who has also served a prison term has advised recently convicted Orji Kalu, former governor of Abia state and Senate Chief Whip to stay strong and to see his travails in prison as a phase of life. The flamboyant ex-governor gave this counsel to Kalu during a visit he paid him in prison.
A pensive kalu had reportedly told his visitor about how he feeds his prison.
It would be recalled that the former Abia state governor and chief whip of the senate had been sentenced to 12 years imprisonment by a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos over N7.65billion fraud perpetrated while he was governor of Abia State between 1999 and 2007.
Kalu was reported to have cut a pitiable picture when he was visited in prison by his business associated. The convicted governor wore bathroom slippers and his visitor struggled with words to console him.
Kalu became the governor of Abia state before he was 30 and served for two terms.
