Suspected armed robber dies after shoot out with Police in Delta Community

A suspected armed robber, Andrew Johnny has been reported dead with members of his gang sustaining gunshot wounds in Abraka Community, Ethiope-East Local Government Area of Delta State.
The deceased suspect died while receiving medical treatment in an undisclosed hospital, DAILY POST can report.
Our Correspondent reports that the deceased suspect and members of his gang opened fire on the Police after allegedly robbing a hostel in the University town.
The suspect who allegedly ran into the bush, was said to have sustained severe injuries while members of his gang scamped for safety.
With blood stains on the ground, the Police, however, traced the deceased suspect and met him in the pool of his blood inside the bush.
The suspect is said to have died as a result of the fatal injuries sustained during the exchange of gunfire between him and the police.
Items recovered from the deceased suspect includes, a locally made cut-to-size short gun, four cartridges, a cutlass and a hammer.
When contacted for comments, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya confirmed the report at the venue of the ongoing Press Week organized by the Delta State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ in Asaba.
