COVID-19: Head of Service inspects facilities at Federal Secretariat

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HOCSF), Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan, inspected facilities at the Federal Secretariat in Abuja.
The visit was to ascertain how civil servants were complying with guidelines on preventing the spread of COVID-19.
Yemi-Esan in a statement issued by Mrs Olawunmi Ogunmosunle, Director Information in the Office of the HOCSF, frowned at the poor sanitary condition of toilets at the secretariat.
She said that she embarked on the inspection to safeguard civil servants at their work places in the face of the prevailing coronavirus pandemic.
The head of service frowned at the poor state of various facilities at the secretariat, especially toilets, saying that she was disappointed at the poor hygiene at the secretariat.
She decried the lack of water in the offices, saying however, that her office was looking into how to restore water to ensure hygiene at the offices.
Addressing senior civil servants and permanent secretaries, Yemi-Esan reiterated her commitment to ensuring the welfare of civil servants.
“The welfare of civil servants is paramount to me. I cannot allow them to work in an atmosphere that is not conducive.”
She also inspected some facilities, including hand washing points and sanitisers, provided at entrances of offices as well as measures put in place to ensure social distancing at the secretariat.
