BOOM! No Face Mask In Public, Pay N10,000 – Anambra Governor
Jun 4, 2020
The governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has stated that any person not wearing a facemask in public in the state will be fined N10,000 or given hours of community service.
This was made known by the governor at a state broadcast on Wednesday.
Obiano said this had become necessary as some reports had come up that some persons had started lowering their guard on the stipulated COVID-19 protocols.
He said, “It is an offense to be seen in the public without a facemask.
“The offense attracts a fine of N10,000 or some hours of community service.
“The information we received from different quarters indicate that our people have started lowering their guard on the COVID-19 protocols.
“I have it on good authority that traders in various markets no longer comply with the enforcement of the wearing of facemasks and the washing of hands.
“I want to warn that we may consider shutting down the markets if this trend is not stopped with immediate effect.
